Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant for a growing construction company in Johnson County. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the strategic growth and operational efficiency of a dynamic construction firm with the possibility of great advancement

Duties

• Collaborate closely with the Controller to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor all costs (materials, labor, subcontractor) to ensure accurate, up-to-date inputs for the Percentage of Completion (POC) calculation.
• Generate Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
• Monitor subcontractor contracts, manage lien waivers, and ensure compliance with tax and industry regulations
• Work closely with Project Managers on keeping the projects on budget
• Performing accounting duties such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and signing off on purchase orders

Skills

• A bachelor's Degree in Accounting is a must
• 5+ years of experience in construction accounting is a must
• Proficiency in accounting software, including Foundation, SAGE300, Viewpoint and other financial management tools.
• Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and external agencies.
• Strong Microsoft Excel
