SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT (CASUAL, FUN ENVIRONMENT)

This position requires a passion for accuracy, strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks and effectively communicate with various levels of the organization.

Would you like to be a part of our team? If so, as our experienced Staff Accountant you will:

• Facilitate bank, credit card and other reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Review and reconcile multiple daily sales reports.
• Support the quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
• Monitor and review accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal management and auditors.
• Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns, corporate tax filings, and other regulatory filings.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, helping to build a collaborative team environment.
• Contribute to the improvement and optimization of accounting processes and systems.
• Support the fixed asset process by maintaining accurate general ledger transactions.
• Prepare and record journal entries.
• Assist accounting department leadership to resolve accounting issues.
• Other duties as necessary or assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or commensurate job experience with a proven track record of success.

EXPERIENCE:

• 4+ years of experience in a staff accountant position
• GAAP and Internal control framework
• Managing Accounts Payable in a paperless office environment
• Microsoft Excel user (Intermediate or Expert)
• Report building/generation

SKILLS:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills at various levels of an organization.
• Ability to achieve progress on multiple tasks while exhibiting high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use analytical skills to evaluate outcomes for accuracy.

CHARACTERISTICS:

• Possess self-motivation, initiative, attention to detail, organization, documentation, and follow through.

PREFERENCES (Not required):

• Restaurant experience
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
