Job Summary: The Staff Accountant supports the accounting team by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with daily accounting operations. This role ensures accuracy in financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities:Prepare and post journal entriesReconcile general ledger and bank accountsSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsReconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepanciesAssist with month-end and year-end close processesAnalyze account variances and resolve discrepanciesAssist with financial statements and supporting schedulesSupport internal and external auditsMaintain accurate financial records and documentationEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal controlsPerform other accounting tasks and special projects as assigned Qualifications:Bachelor 's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field1-3 years of accounting experienceBasic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet deadlines and work in a team environment Preferred Qualifications:Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., JAMIS, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)Experience in a multi-entity environmentKanaka Family of Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and all qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, marital status, sex (including pregnancy), gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information (family medical history), or any other status protected by federal, state or local laws.
