Charge Nurse PACU

Job Summary And Responsibilities As a Charge RN, you will oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your experience in acute care, long‑term care, or nursing homes brings valuable insight to our nursing team. You will advocate for your colleagues daily, supporting them in reaching their full potential while aligning with your department’s operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role you must be accountable, confident, and an excellent communicator in both one‑on‑one and group settings. You should also be comfortable engaging in tough conversations as you are responsible for the performance of your staff and the unit. Mentor others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), and participation in in‑service education. Provide direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of patients and the department. Evaluate care given by staff. Coach staff to improve care quality. Ensure the standard of care is maintained. Demonstrate an understanding of ethical decision‑making processes and coordinate obtaining an Ethics Consult when necessary. Job Requirements Required Associate of Nursing (ADN), Diploma, or foreign equivalent. Two years of RN experience within applicable clinical specialties. Registered Nurse: AZ license. American Heart Association certifications: Basic Life Support – CPR Advanced Cardiac Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
