Staff Accountant

Using cloud-based technology and a team of CPAs, bookkeepers, and payroll specialists, we serve clients across real estate, healthcare, eCommerce, technology, and more — from early-stage companies to $50M+ in annual revenue. The Role We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who thrives in a client-facing environment and takes pride in keeping books clean, clients informed, and deadlines met. You'll own a portfolio of small-to-midsize business clients, serving as their day-to-day financial point of contact while collaborating closely with our tax and payroll teams. What You'll Do Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients — categorization, reconciliations, and month-end close Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, delivering regular financial updates and answering questions with clarity and professionalism Prepare accurate financial statements, P&Ls, and balance sheets on a monthly and annual basis Process and reconcile bank and credit card accounts; maintain clean general ledger records in QuickBooks Support tax-ready bookkeeping and coordinate with the tax team during filing seasons Assist with payroll processing and ensure accuracy of related ledger entries Identify and flag financial discrepancies; recommend process improvements to boost efficiency Participate in year-end close and audit-preparation processes What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online; general ledger experience required Strong understanding of bank and credit card reconciliations and best bookkeeping practices Comfortable speaking directly with clients — you're responsive, clear, and build trust easily Knowledge of tax preparation basics, financial compliance, and auditing standards Exceptional attention to detail with a consistent track record of accuracy under deadline pressure Experience working with small to midsize businesses preferred Collaborative team player who communicates proactively and follows through Nice to Have NOT Required Multiple industry experience Why Wisdom Books Work alongside experienced CPAs and tax professionals in a collaborative, growth-oriented team Manage a diverse client roster across exciting industries — no two days look the same Modern cloud-based tools and workflows — no legacy software headaches Clear path for advancement as you grow your skills and client relationships #J-18808-Ljbffr WisdomBooks
