Electronic Technician II

At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.As an Electronic Technician II, you will perform routine troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and testing of electromechanical medical instruments and assemblies using approved procedures, drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation. You will be responsible for ensuring products meet established quality and performance standards while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing and service environment.What will you be doing?Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, adjust, and test analog and digital electromechanical medical instruments according to established procedures and specifications.Accurately document repairs, inspections, and testing activities in Device History Records (DHRs) and other quality documentation.Create labels and package medical instruments and assemblies for shipment.Complete daily work cell performance metric tracking and reporting.Evaluate repair requirements and assist with preparation of customer repair quotations.What will you need to be successful?EducationHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.Associate's Degree in Electronics from an accredited two-year college or technical school preferred.Equivalent military electronics training and experience may be substituted.Experience2-4 years of experience as an Electronic Technician, Service Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or in a related technical field.Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic and electromechanical systems.Experience performing diagnostics using technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electronic test equipment.Medical device, manufacturing, or regulated industry experience preferred.Skills & CompetenciesAdvanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.Experience using electronic test and diagnostic equipment.Advanced computer skills.Strong documentation and organizational skills.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Basic math skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.Physical DemandsAbility to lift and handle materials up to 25 pounds.Travel RequirementsLess than 10% travel required.You Unlimited.We believe in creating the greatest good for society.
