Forge Operator Lead

Position Summary

The Forge Operator Lead is responsible for leading daily forging operations while ensuring production goals, product quality, safety standards, and operational efficiency are consistently achieved. This position provides hands-on leadership to forge operators, coordinates workflow, monitors equipment and processes, and serves as a key resource for troubleshooting and training.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Lead and coordinate daily activities for the forging team to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Set up, operate, and monitor forging equipment and related machinery.
• Ensure proper material flow, tooling setup, machine operation, and production sequencing.
• Monitor production rates, equipment performance, and product quality throughout the shift.
• Identify and address production issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput.
• Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, blueprints, drawings, and process specifications.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Monitor forging equipment for proper operation and identify potential mechanical or operational issues.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments when appropriate.
• Communicate equipment problems to Maintenance and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
• Help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and proper care of tooling and equipment.
