Direct Care Worker (Private Pay)

The Direct Care Worker provides one-on-one, non-medical support to a private-pay client in their home or community. This role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety, promoting independence, and enhancing overall quality of life.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide mobility support, including transfers and ambulation assistance
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed
• Perform light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying living areas)
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Accompany client to appointments or community activities (if required)
• Monitor and report changes in the client's physical, emotional, or mental condition
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Follow care plans and client/family preferences
• Document services provided as required

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Previous caregiving or direct care experience preferred
• Experience with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or memory care is a plus
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation (if transportation duties are required)

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to lift, transfer, or assist clients (up to [X] lbs)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods

Preferred certifications (not always required) include:

• CPR/First Aid
• PCA, HHA, or CNA certification
