Job Summary The Orthopedic and Spine nurse works closely with patients, their families, and the orthopedic team to ensure clear client education, smooth recovery, and minimal complications. The role focuses on encouraging mobility, educating patients on joint and bone health, and implementing pain and complication minimization strategies. About this Unit

• 16‑bed unit with a 1:5 nurse‑to‑patient ratio
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neuro, and spine cases
• Joint Commissioned Certified for Total Hip and Knee

Responsibilities Coordinate and provide patient care under the direction of the Director, Manager, or Nurse Manager. Assume individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. Deliver nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and unit structure standards. Educate patients and families about recovery, mobility, and joint protection. Monitor and manage patient pain, preventing complications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient-centered care. Qualifications A.D.N. or B.S.N. degree preferred. Current Missouri RN license or a valid multistate RN license (MO license required within 90 days if a multistate license is provided). BLS certification required upon hire and maintained. ACLS certification required within six months of hire. NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 90 days and annually thereafter.
