Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the mental health and substance use concerns of clients, identifying the presence of co-occurring disorders through structured interviews and standardized tools.

• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, aligning evidence-based interventions with their specific needs and life goals.

• Implement individual and group therapy sessions focused on developing coping strategies, relapse prevention skills, and enhancing emotional regulation.

• Engage in regular collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to treatment, sharing insights and strategies for integrated care.

• Monitor substance use progress through consistent follow-ups, employing motivational interviewing techniques that encourage client engagement and self-efficacy.

• Educate clients and their families about the interconnectedness of mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of ongoing treatment and support.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, interventions, and progress records, strictly adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in weekly case conferences and training sessions to continuously enhance your skills in evidence-based practices for co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse client population, including individuals facing the challenges of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Many clients will have experienced trauma or significant life stressors, necessitating a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to care. Your ability to foster a trusting therapeutic alliance will be crucial in helping clients navigate their path to recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California is required.
\n
• Proficient in evidence-based approaches for treating co-occurring disorders, with specific skills in Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A strong understanding of the complexities relating to mental health and substance use disorders and their interrelations.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients and colleagues across various disciplines.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two or more years of direct clinical experience providing therapy for clients with co-occurring disorders.

• Experience in community health settings with diverse populations.
\n
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and technology integration in mental health services.

Compensation and Benefits\n
