Launch your next rewarding assignment supporting students as a paraprofessional in a dynamic educational setting near Lees Summit, MO. This contract opportunity runs through the end of the school year, offering meaningful roles across middle and elementary school campuses. Develop your skills and make a positive daily impact while working with engaged teams at multiple locations.
You may support students at New Mark Middle, Maplewood Elementary, or Bell Prairie Elementary, with hours tailored to either middle (7:00–2:30) or elementary (8:30–3:55) schedules. Flexibility is key, as you may be reassigned within the district during the school year to meet student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active substitute certification on DESE or passing Parapro exam results and diploma
- Previous experience in school or behavioral settings with children/adolescents
- Reliable transportation for travel between sites as needed
- Willingness to complete the district-required fingerprinting process (candidate pays upfront)
- Adaptability to move between roles and campuses as needed throughout the year
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support under teacher direction to enhance student learning experiences
- Work one-on-one or in small groups, assisting with instructional activities and behavioral interventions
- Maintain a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom organization, materials, and student supervision
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans and behavioral strategies
