Sourcing Coordinator

Job Description

The Sourcing Coordinator provides critical administrative and operational support to drive the global supply chain and sourcing process. This role serves as a key bridge between internal teams—like Sales and Design—and overseas factories to manage product development from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily communication with overseas offices and agents. Should be available to attend calls on China/India timings.
\n
• Work with sales on product requirements, target costs, forecast and work with overseas factories to get competitive cost with the appropriate country/factory, based on customer requirements.
\n
• Cost engineer into target price ensuring accuracy that costs reflect packaging/ testing/quality requirements of the customer before passing to sales and entering PLM.
\n
• Evaluate costing for repeat SKUs on a regular basis for any benefit from global market conditions, raw material and currency fluctuation.
\n
• Work with Sales/planning team on deadlines on replenishment/running changes for production. Track/manage roll out orders.
\n
• Work in close collaboration with Design/PD on product/sample development follow ups, running changes, deadlines. Follow through from sample order to receipt in NYC.
\n
• Coordinate with Packaging department to ensure packaging is available at time of costing requests.
\n
• Analyze overall factory plans to ensure capacities are available for all orders and reorders.
\n
• Participate in weekly development and production meetings for all customers.
\n

Qualifications

• Excellent costing and negotiating skills. Must be able to work on large excel data
\n
• Modest overseas travel required
\n
• Understanding of trade regulations, product integrity, testing protocols, production cycle timeline and logistics.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
\n
• Strategic thinker with excellent business acumen and strong tactical skills.
\n
• Works independently with ability to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines.
\n
• Superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
\n
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.

Education and Experience

\n
• Bachelor’s degree with 8yrs of sourcing experience working with overseas vendors at a large volume wholesale or retail business.
\n
• 2-3 years of experience in Home Textiles or Apparel preferred
\n
• Experienced in Home Textiles – Kitchen Towels, Placemats, Runners, Chairpads, Pillows, Bath, Mats, Rugs, Pet Beds.
\n
• Experienced working with Walmart/Sams, Costco, TJX Brands, strong understanding of costing, timelines and requirements.
