Fairview Hospital’s 6 North/South Med/Surg and Telemetry Units provide comprehensive care and caring services for adults, 18 years of age or older, who have medical and surgical diagnoses and offer a warm, comforting healing environment. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey while interacting directly with patients and their families, enhancing their experience and providing education and support as needed.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers works a day/night rotation between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

\n

\n

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

\n

\n
• \n

  Provide direct nursing care. 

\n
• \n

  Implement and monitor patient care plans.  

\n
• \n

  Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.  

\n
• \n

  Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

\n
• \n

  Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

\n
• \n

  Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

\n

\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n
• \n

  Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)

\n
• \n

  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

\n
• \n

  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

\n
• \n

  *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire

\n
• \n

  External applicants: two years of recent related nursing

\n
• \n

  Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval

\n
• \n

  Military RN experience considered

\n

\n

\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

\n

\n
• \n

  Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

\n

\n

\n

\n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• \n

  Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

\n
• \n

  Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

\n
• \n

  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

\n
• \n

  Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

\n
• \n

  Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

\n
• \n

  Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

\n
• \n

  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

\n

\n

\n

Personal Protective Equipment:

  Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

\n

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $43.00

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $43.00

\n

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
