Department Website: Job Description And Duties Note: Effective July 1, 2025, a 3% salary reduction is in place under the Personal Leave Program (PLP), with 5 hours of Personal Leave Credit earned monthly in exchange. Under general direction of the Supervisor I, the Housing and Community Development Representative II independently performs the more responsible, complex varied and difficult analytical assignments to include providing technical assistance, policy, analysis, and research on issues that impact housing. Incumbent has increased responsibility and, as such, provides the more responsible, varied and technically difficult analytical assignments, and developing policy and program recommendations for consideration by managers. Incumbents work in a team environment and may provide guidance and direction as lead or mentor to other staff members. Research is conducted on issues that impact housing, which may include implementing and enforcing state housing laws, including but not limited to State Accessory Dwelling Unit Law, SB 9, State Density Bonus Law, Housing Element Law, the Housing Accountability Act, the Housing Crisis Act, and Streamlined Ministerial Approval (SB 35). Incumbents work in a team environment and engage with a wide variety of external stakeholders. In limited cases, at the Department’s discretion, an employee may be approved to work in a remote-centered capacity on a temporary basis until appropriate office space becomes available. The designated headquarters location will be based on the employee’s primary residence and may be updated if HCD criteria are met.
