Outside Sales Representative – Power Generation

Total Energy Solutions (TES) is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to support customers throughout Baton Rouge, Geismar/Gonzales, New Orleans, the River Parishes, and surrounding South Louisiana markets .

We are looking for a technically minded sales professional who understands how to identify a customer's power needs and recommend the right solution. The ideal candidate will bring direct experience selling generators, temporary power, or power-generation solutions and be comfortable working directly with industrial and commercial customers in the field.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has a strong combination of technical knowledge and proven outside sales experience . Direct generator and power-generation experience is highly preferred.

You should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Generators and generator systems
• Temporary and standby power solutions
• Power generation equipment
• Electrical equipment and systems
• Industrial electrical applications
• Technical industrial sales

Experience selling broadly within equipment rental or industrial markets is valuable; however, we are specifically looking for candidates with a strong technical, power, electrical, or generator background .

What You'll Do

You will develop and grow business throughout the South Louisiana territory while working directly with customers to understand their operational and power requirements.

Responsibilities include developing new customer relationships and expanding existing accounts; visiting customer facilities, plants, and job sites; evaluating customer applications and power requirements; recommending appropriate generator and power solutions based on factors such as application, load, voltage, phase, and operating requirements; preparing proposals and following opportunities through the sales cycle; maintaining relationships with plant personnel, contractors, maintenance teams, procurement, operations, and other decision-makers; and developing sufficient product knowledge to operate independently in the field.

Ideal Background

We're especially interested in candidates who have previously sold or supported generators, temporary power, electrical systems, power-generation equipment, or related technical solutions .

The strongest candidate will already understand generator applications and be capable of getting into the field quickly-speaking confidently with customers, identifying their needs, and helping determine the appropriate equipment or power solution.

Candidates with a strong electrical or power background who can quickly learn our specific generator product offering will also be considered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of B2B outside sales, territory sales, or technical sales experience preferred
• Generator or power-generation sales experience strongly preferred
• Power, electrical, or related technical sales experience highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business and manage a sales territory
• Comfortable working directly with industrial and commercial customers in the field
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand customer applications
• Existing relationships within the South Louisiana industrial/commercial market are a plus
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory
• Valid driver's license
