Arrowleaf is hiring 4 Student Workers for The Scoop Station, our new hand-dipped ice cream shop located inside the Forman Depot Visitor Center & Train Museum in Vienna, Illinois.

The Scoop Station is a social enterprise operated by Arrowleaf that combines employment opportunities with tourism and community development. Student Workers will gain real-world experience in customer service, food service, teamwork, and day-to-day business operations.

Home Office: The Scoop Station – Forman Depot, Vienna, IL

Area of Focus: Community Collaboration

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Program Director

Pay: $13.00–$15.50/hour

Seasonal Operating Hours

Student Workers will be scheduled based on their availability and the needs of The Scoop Station. Opening shifts may begin 30 minutes before public opening, and closing shifts may continue 30 minutes after public closing.

Peak Summer | Memorial Day Weekend–August 1

Sunday–Wednesday: Public hours 11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. | Staff coverage 10:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.

Thursday–Saturday: Public hours 11:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. | Staff coverage 10:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m.

Spring & Fall | March 1–Memorial Day and August 2–October 31

Wednesday–Saturday: Public hours 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. | Staff coverage 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

Sunday: Public hours 2:00–6:00 p.m. | Staff coverage 1:30–6:30 p.m.

Winter | November–February

Friday–Saturday: Public hours 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. | Staff coverage 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

Sunday: Public hours 2:00–6:00 p.m. | Staff coverage 1:30–6:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications: Students must be 16 or 17 years old and have reliable transportation to and from the worksite. Must complete Food Handler Certification and CPR/First-Aid Certification during orientation.

Job Duties Include:

• Greet customers and provide friendly customer service

• Take orders, operate the point-of-sale system, and serve ice cream and other menu items

• Assist with food preparation and follow food-safety requirements

• Keep customer, service, and food-preparation areas clean and organized

• Wash dishes and utensils and maintain sanitation standards

• Stock supplies and assist with inventory

• Perform routine cleaning and janitorial duties

• Assist visitors and help create a welcoming experience at The Scoop Station and Forman Depot
