Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists are encouraged to consider an available PRN / as needed Clinician position with Liberty Healthcare.

Work setting and client population:

Liberty Healthcare operates a specialized forensic mental health program located within the Maguire Correctional Facility – a San Mateo County jail. This program exclusively serves adults who are justice-involved, experiencing mental illness, and have been determined to be incompetent to stand trial.

Mission:

The goal of this cutting-edge program is to facilitate early access to mental health services, provide rapid psychiatric stabilization, and restore people to competency efficiently and effectively.

Location:

The unit is located within the Maguire Correctional Facility - a San Mateo County jail located at 300 Bradford Street in Redwood City, CA 94063.

Responsibilities:

As a Clinician, your role will involve:

• Providing services to program clients one-to-one, in-person, and onsite at the facility
• Conducting Psychosocial and risk assessments
• Providing brief treatment primarily focused on symptom management, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention
• Supporting clients with competency restoration training and education
• Documenting services and client status in the Liberty's electronic health record system
• Participating in treatment team and other meetings
• Collaborating with clinical, ancillary and security staff

Work schedule:

This is an "as needed" position offering occasional work in times of peak program utilization and when coverage is needed for staff who are on vacation or other leave.

Compensation:

You can expect to be paid $65.00 per hour.

Qualifications:

You are a good fit for this position if you are licensed professionally as an LCSW or LMFT. Experience working in an inpatient or secure setting is helpful but not required.
