Senior Mechanical Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in United States. This remote role offers an opportunity to support the development and evaluation of complex electric power projects across the United States and internationally. You will contribute to conceptual design, technical evaluations, engineering reviews, and owner’s engineer services for major power generation facilities. The position combines hands-on mechanical engineering expertise with project development, technical due diligence, and risk assessment. You will work across conventional generation technologies, including gas turbines, combined-cycle, coal-fired, steam, and reciprocating engine projects. Your analysis will help clients make informed technical, commercial, and project investment decisions. The role also provides exposure to economic analysis, cost evaluation, contract development, and emerging engineering technologies. With opportunities for domestic and international travel, this position offers broad technical scope and meaningful client impact. Accountabilities: - Provide development support, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer services for electric power generation projects. - Perform technical evaluations of power generation projects, facilities, and mechanical systems. - Conduct engineering design reviews and technical due diligence for conventional power projects. - Support project development activities, technical risk assessments, and evaluation of project feasibility. - Review mechanical designs for conventional generation technologies, including simple-cycle gas turbines, combined-cycle plants, coal-fired generation, steam systems, and reciprocating engines. - Contribute to project economic analysis, cost assessments, and contract development activities. - Support evaluations of power station operations, performance, and process design where applicable. - Apply relevant engineering standards and international design codes to project assessments.

- Use appropriate data, automation, AI, and other digital tools to improve research, analysis, engineering, design, and workflows while maintaining professional judgment and quality control. - Collaborate with clients and project teams and communicate technical findings clearly through written reports, presentations, and other deliverables. - Travel within the United States and internationally as required. Requirements: - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program, with a strong academic record. - 10+ years of experience in the electric power industry. - Significant experience with detailed mechanical design of conventional power projects. - Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: simple-cycle gas turbines, combined-cycle projects, coal-fired generation, steam systems, or reciprocating engine generation. - Experience supporting the development and conceptual design of conventional power projects. - Excellent technical communication, report-writing, and documentation skills. - Experience with technical due diligence and owner’s engineer design reviews is preferred. - General knowledge of power station operations and performance reviews is preferred. - Familiarity with process design at electric power generation facilities is a plus. - Experience with economic analysis, cost analysis, or contract development is valued. - Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards is preferred. - Interest in learning and effectively applying emerging technologies such as AI, automation, programming, and other digital tools is valued but not required. - Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
