Office SpecialistWashington County is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and dependable Office Specialist to provide administrative and clerical support within the Sheriff's Office. This position performs a broad range of office support functions essential to the efficient operation of departmental services, including records management, customer service, financial processing, inmate accounting, property management, visitation coordination, and legal document processing.Full-time with benefits / $21.53 an hourHours: 4 days, 10-hour, 7am-5pm schedule. Could include holidays, nights and weekends.Minimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredTwo (2) years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, office support, or related experienceORAn equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of general office practices, record keeping, and administrative proceduresProficiency with computer systems, data entry, and standard office software applicationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgmentAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agencies, and the publicAbility to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.Special Requirements:Must successfully pass an extensive background investigationMust meet all eligibility requirements for law enforcement support personnelSelected employees may be required to:Pass the BCI Proficiency TestObtain and maintain Notary Public certificationOnly applications submitted online by August 23, 2026 will be accepted.Washington County is an equal opportunity employer.
