With a strong emphasis on our team and dedication to excellent customer service, Corning Credit Union continues to be an employer of choice across the markets we serve.Role Summary: As a Call Center Specialist I, you will build lasting member relationships with every interaction, troubleshoot and resolve member questions, perform a variety of financial transactions, and educate members on the products and services that best meet their financial needs.Essential Job DutiesMaintain appropriate knowledge of core systems and CCU's products and servicesAnswer incoming calls and member questions in a prompt and professional mannerPresent and explain beneficial products to members and assist in meeting their vast financial needsOpen new memberships, accounts, and servicesAssist members with requests for account research needsCollect information needed to process outgoing bank wires and ensure accuracy and safety, following all anti-fraud proceduresProactively educate members on the ease of doing business with CCU through our many electronic service channelsAlso assumes responsibility for other projects or duties as required or assignedRequired CompetenciesStrong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect well with members via the telephoneHighly flexible and able to grasp and disseminate large amounts of information in a fast-paced call center environmentPossesses exceptional verbal and written communication skillsExceptional attention to detailStrong problem-solving skillsConfidence in promoting appropriate products and servicesTechnical aptitude with experience using mobile banking and other apps or financial servicesEducation RequirementsA bachelor's degree or other form of secondary education is preferred, commensurate work experience will also be consideredA high school diploma or GED is requiredExperience RequirementsPrior call center or customer service experience is preferred but not required, as CCU will provide extensive training to the successful candidateCommunication Skills RequirementsThe ability to read and comprehend moderate to advanced instructions and correspondenceThe ability to write moderate to advanced correspondence within professional etiquette standardsThe ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situationsPhysical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the role.Ability to work in a repetitive motion for a lengthy period of timeAbility to work within a fast-paced call center environmentRegular use of computer requiredSpecific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus from close range to long rangeCorning Credit Union is an equal opportunity employer.
