Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Prescott, Arizona.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Telemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/21/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 21, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.Details\n \n Acute care Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit with 49 beds\n Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15\n Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI conditions, diabetes, post-cath, and total joint replacement patients\n Utilizes Cerner EMR\n 12-hour night shifts from 7pm-7am\n Self-scheduling used within 4-week schedules, finalized by manager\n Every other weekend required (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)\n No call or standby requirements\n Floating required to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified, with travelers first to float\n Tele/Monitor techs present on unit; RNs required to interpret strips and sign at least once per shift\n Respiratory equipment used includes BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments\n Diltiazem/Cardizem drips administered at set rate; RNs not required to titrate drips\n Requirements\n \n Active AZ or compact RN license required\n BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n Experience reading basic tele strips required\n Some experience with CVA and TIA preferred\n Total joint replacement experience preferred\n Cerner EMR experience recommended due to limited orientation\n Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract\n Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility\n Additional Information\n \n Provide medical/surgical and telemetry nursing care to a diverse patient population\n Both charge nurse and house supervisor support available on unit\n One shift of unit-specific orientation provided\n Navy blue scrub color required\n Holiday coverage required for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving, typically working 2 days and an eve or 2 eves and a day\n Must pass a pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on first day of orientation\n Failure of dysrhythmia or sterile technique exams after two attempts results in ineligibility with this health system's Arizona and Sacramento facilities for 6 months\n Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with this health system, including CHI and/or Dignity affiliated facilities, within the past year\n Cancellation policy allows 4 shifts per contract, or 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-750679.
