Title: Interpreter Position Type: Part-time Staff Search Type: External - minimum 7 days Department: 71R000 - Dean of Students Division: 5R0000 - Student Success,Opportunity&Engage Position Location: Richmond Campus Driver Classification: Non-Driver FLSA: Non-Exempt Schedule Type: Part Time, No Benefits (less than 20 hrs per week) Hours Per Week: As needed Retirement: None Contact Person: Shirley Rivard Job Summary/Basic Functions An Interpreter facilitates communication between current students who are deaf/hard of hearing in all academic aspects of the university experience, including but not limited to classroom lectures, academic advising, field trips, and internships. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree is required. Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience is required. Equivalency: Education or native-like ASL skills may substitute for experience. Level III National Interpreting Certification is required and must be a member in good standing Full Interpreting License is required and must be maintained Level II Temporary Interpreting License is required and must be maintained. Must be actively working towards National Interpreting Certification Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
