Madison Meadow Athletic Center Babysitting Attendant

The Madison Meadow Athletic Center (MMAC) is seeking attentive and caring individuals who enjoy caring for and interacting with young children between 3 months and 6 years of age while their parent/guardian participates in fitness or other activities at the MMAC. Our babysitting attendants perform general caregiving duties to ensure children's needs are met while their parents/guardians are away. Duties and responsibilities vary depending on the age of the children in their care but may include supervising and tending to children's needs during free play, reading, playing games or other activities, changing diapers or assisting with toileting, and ensuring their general safety. Previous experience caring for young children is preferred. Additional duties include checking children in and out, cleaning toys and keeping the play area tidy and safe, attending staff training and meetings, reporting safety hazards and/or repair and maintenance concerns, and performing other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.

Hours: Monday Friday availability from 8:30 - 11:00 AM with scheduled shifts two to three days per week.

Qualifications and Training Expectations: Previous childcare experience is highly desired, especially with very young children. Pleasant, attentive, and caring demeanor to provide quality customer service. Effective communication skills with both children and adults. A strong sense of safety and problem-solving skills with the capacity to act calmly and effectively in difficult or emergency situations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. CPR, AED, First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Mandated Reporter and other required training will be provided and must be completed within the specified timeframe. Good physical condition to stand, walk, and sit on the floor, with sufficient strength to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Work environment is indoors in a temperature-controlled room with fluorescent and/or LED lighting.
