Range Attendant I

Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Golf Operations Manager, the Golf Range Attendant I is a highly visible position with the responsibility of keeping the driving range or golf dome tee lines attractive, organized, and free of debris. This position involves extensive customer contact and therefore must be positive, friendly, accommodating and show utmost respect for our patrons. The Attendant must operate range equipment in a safe and productive manner which includes a tractor and golf cart with attached ball picker. Golf balls are to be washed and prepared for distribution either indoors or outdoors. Experienced Attendants will also be cross trained in cashier functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans and prepares District equipment/tools to be ready for use at the beginning of each shift.
• Operates District equipment/tools in a safe manner including, but not limited to, golf carts and tractors.
• Utilizes golf ball washer to clean baskets of golf balls and then transports them to appropriate location for use.
• Maintains the highest degree of cleanliness of the clubhouse, patio areas including outdoor furniture; practice range area, miniature golf and golf dome.
• Treats customers in a professional, efficient manner.
• Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and functions as directed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 17 years of age or older
• Valid State of Illinois Driver's License required and must successfully pass Illinois Driver's Abstract review.

• Must be able to perform duties in the presence of the general population and or patrons in public areas.
• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.

• Proficiency to read and write in English, and organize effectively.
• Capacity to maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations.
• Must demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment and perform basic problem solving skills.
• Actively participate in all team meetings and training sessions.
• Aptitude for using a computer; particularly the District's proprietary software programs and the skills to train others.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of objects 40 75 pounds.
• Work area is both indoors, in a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting, and outdoors at the golf course, driving range and miniature golf.
• Frequent exposure to natural and potentially extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, snow, rain and ice while attending to job related activities.
• Exposure to noise distractions from employees, patrons or equipment operation.
• Exposure to chronic or infectious disease while performing routine first aid or emergency procedures
• Exposure to sun for extended periods of time.
• Must be aware of the presence of golfing hazards.
