This position provides hands-on care, encourages resident engagement in activities, and helps maintain a comfortable and dignified environment for all residents.What You’ll DoComply with established policies, procedures, and standards, including the Compliance Program/Code of ConductFollow Residents’ Rights policies at all timesTreat all resident information as confidentialTreat residents, families, visitors, and peers with dignity and respect, maintaining a cheerful and positive attitudeEnsure residents’ privacy, respect, dignity, and rights in accordance with State and Federal regulationsReport any unusual observations or conditions to the Med Tech or LPN on dutyEncourage residents to remain active and attend social functions and programsAssist with the implementation of activity programs as neededSupport residents with personal care, including bathing, continence care, oral hygiene, hair grooming, dressing, care of personal possessions, use of telephone, scheduling and reminders of appointments, ambulation, bed-making, and weekly linen changesAssist with new resident admissions, including unpacking, orientation, and explanation of activities and meal schedulesRespond promptly to resident call bellsAssist at meal times according to departmental policyTake and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and accu-checksAttend department meetings, staff meetings, and training programsPractice safety for self and residents, reporting any unsafe conditions to the Med Tech or LPNMake continuous rounds to observe and check on residents’ comfort and safetyEnsure residents are charged appropriately for supplies and additional servicesAssist in training peersParticipate in monthly fire drills and assist with the prompt evacuation of residentsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in healthcare or related field preferred but not requiredCurrent CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire)Diabetic Training (or willingness to obtain after hire)Commitment to customer service and teamworkUnderstanding of and alignment with the philosophy and corporate values of Garden Spot CommunitiesMust rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays as scheduledMay be required to work during emergency conditions (short staffing, severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)May be asked to work overtime to ensure adequate staffingAdditional InformationSchedule for this role is every other weekend 7am-3pm!Why You’ll Love Working at Garden Spot At Garden Spot Village, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven team committed to compassion, respect, and integrity.
