Associate Director of Admissions – 3561 Position Details Division: Enrollment Management Department: Admissions Working Title: Associate Director of Transfer Admission Vacancy Type: Exempt Professional Staff (EPS) FTE: 1 Recruitment Range: Commensurate Upon Education and Experience Anticipated Hiring Range: Commensurate Upon Education and Experience Position #: 3561 FLSA Status: Exempt Months per year: 12 Grant funded position: No Primary Purpose of Position The primary purpose of this position is to support the growth of transfer student enrollment by leading the strategic efforts tied to transfer support such as developing and implementing prospective transfer events, pipeline programming and partnerships, advising on time to degree, and leading and supporting a unit focused on transfer recruitment and enrollment coaching. Job Description The Associate Director of Transfer Student Recruitment at UNC Pembroke is responsible for leading and managing recruitment strategies specifically targeted towards in-state and out-of-state transfer students. The role also focuses on special populations such as military students and contemporary adult learners, employing a strategic, data-driven approach to enhance and expand transfer recruitment across the 58 North Carolina Community Colleges and beyond. Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Data Analysis (20%) Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies, monitor effectiveness, prepare reports, and recommend improvements based on data and trend evaluations. Recruitment and Relationship Management (30%) Lead recruitment efforts across North Carolina community colleges, establish partnerships, design targeted engagement plans for special populations, and coordinate with academic departments and support offices. Events & Recruitment Programming (30%) Develop and execute an annual plan for transfer recruitment events, campus visits, transfer fairs, and community outreach initiatives, and create informational materials tailored to transfer students. Staff Leadership & Supervision (10%) Supervise and mentor recruitment staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a collaborative team environment. Operations, Technology & Transcript Processing (10%) Oversee operational processes supporting transfer enrollment, manage transcript evaluation, utilize technology for pre-evaluations, and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in admissions, recruitment, or related areas with a proven track record of successful transfer student recruitment and management. Skills: Strategic planning and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Experience working with community colleges and military populations. Proficiency in data analysis and CRM (Target X). Leadership and team management abilities. Other Requirements: Ability to travel frequently within North Carolina and to out-of-state locations as needed. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods.
