Day in the life

As the Plant Production Operations Supervisor at Ring Container Technologies, you start your shift with a warm welcome to every team member and a focused, safety‑first huddle. You walk the floor, spot potential hazards, check machine centers, and review SPC charts and OEE dashboards. You coach operators on quality checks and traceability, verify LN entries and lot codes, and coordinate with maintenance using CMMS. Throughout the night, you reinforce the Ring Family Culture—recognizing great work, listening intently, and enabling employee‑led improvements. You document results, manage timecards and attendance, schedule breaks, and ensure all required training and records are up to date. Before handoff, you capture performance, scrap, downtime, and actions so the next team can run even better.

What you’ll lead Safety leadership

• Provide a safe environment for production employees, visitors, and temporary labor.
• Ensure regular safety training per program; coordinate with the plant’s safety team coordinator and maintain training documentation.
• Ensure PPE use for all (earplugs, hairnets, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
• Continuously monitor for hazards; report, correct, repair/replace/quarantine as needed.
• Ensure immediate medical attention for incidents and complete accident investigations.

Culture and engagement

• Champion the Ring Family Culture—people first, production second.
• Greet every employee, conduct pre‑shift meetings, manage by walking around, and recognize wins.
• Listen deeply, understand root causes, and resolve concerns for mutual benefit.
• Lead semi‑weekly focused walks; ask probing questions and capture opportunities.
• Enable employee‑led teams to test ideas; offer feedback; celebrate success—even after early failures.

Quality and compliance

• Coordinate and deliver quality training.
• Enforce labeling/tagging and maintain raw/packaging material traceability (record lot codes).
• Train employees to identify nonconforming product/material; place nonconforming items on hold, isolate, and track.
• Perform downstream tests and measurements; record results per procedure.
• Escalate out‑of‑spec conditions and food safety/defense issues promptly.
• Chart SPC data and act on out‑of‑spec/out‑of‑control signals.

Housekeeping and sanitization

• Keep areas organized and clean using the master cleaning and sanitization schedule.
• Resolve housekeeping and sanitization gaps proactively.

Throughput and equipment effectiveness

• Maximize efficiency on scheduled machines; justify and document process changes.
• Monitor efficiency and adjust to achieve “World Class” OEE standards.
• Perform shift inventories; ensure accurate production numbers.
• Record production, lot info, downtime, etc., in plant documents and LN.
• Communicate equipment issues to maintenance; ensure CMMS work and inventories are accurate.

Training, policy, and administration

• Train production personnel on safety, quality, production, and equipment operation.
• Enforce and monitor Company Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain employee relations and records: approve OT, track attendance, manage PTO requests, and document corrective/disciplinary actions; monitor breaks.
• Plan, run, and document regular shift meetings.

Food safety and defense

• Support SQFI or BRC‑compliant food safety and defense programs.
• Coordinate and conduct food safety training.
• Uphold GMPs, personnel practices, HACCP, and prerequisite programs.
• Prevent foreign material contamination and communicate issues quickly.

Collaboration and CI

• Promote and participate in Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) projects and events.
• Answer phones and greet visitors professionally, reflecting Ring standards.

Qualifications

You bring strong people leadership, urgency, accountability, ethics, professionalism, self‑motivation, and a drive to improve the business.

• Education: 2–4 year technical degree (military experience may substitute).
• Versatility: May be asked to perform duties of operator, line worker, maintenance mechanic, or forklift driver.
• Systems: Proficient with LN and MS Office.
• Communication: Proficient in English (written and oral).
