Electrician Department: Operations Employment Type: Full Time Location: Greensboro, NC Description Morgan Corp.'s Industrial Division is an industrial contractor that self-performs major trades across industrial markets, including power, water/wastewater, water infrastructure, mining, and related sectors throughout the Southeast. We are seeking an Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components on industrial construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical installation methods, technical drawings, applicable safety practices, and the ability to work productively in a field environment as part of a project team. Work Environment: Work is performed primarily outdoors and on active industrial construction sites in varying weather, terrain, and field conditions. The position requires sustained physical activity, including standing, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching at and above shoulder level, grasping and manipulating materials or tools, and pushing/pulling. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs. and work safely around construction equipment, electrical components, elevated work areas, and other jobsite hazards. Key Responsibilities Install, route, support, bend, cut, thread, and terminate EMT, IMC, RGC, and PVC conduit systems using hand benders, hydraulic/electric benders, threading equipment, and other approved methods. Install cable tray systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable safety requirements. Install underground duct bank conduit systems, including layout support, conduit placement, grounding coordination, and preparation for concrete encasement as required. Pull, dress, label, and terminate single- and multi-conductor power and control cabling using appropriate tools, materials, and termination methods. Install grounding systems, including grounding conductors, ground rods, bonding connections, mechanical/crimped connectors, and exothermic welds as required by project specifications. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and jobsite equipment required for industrial electrical installation work. Perform pre-task planning, work-area inspections, and ongoing hazard recognition to support a safe and compliant jobsite. Perform other duties as assigned to support project schedules, quality standards, and overall field operations. Maintain reliable attendance, professional conduct, and accountability for quality, safety, and productivity expectations. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an electrical apprenticeship, technical training program, or equivalent industrial electrical experience preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, vendors, and other trades in person, by phone, and through written communication. Ability to perform basic construction math, including measurements, layout calculations, proportions, percentages, and material takeoffs as needed. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to use digital tools for communication, documentation, or project coordination as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment while managing multiple tasks, changing priorities, and project deadlines. Ability to troubleshoot field issues, evaluate variables, and resolve routine problems with limited supervision. Ability to read and interpret engineered electrical installation drawings, plans, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications. Experience operating or working around trenchers, mini excavators, and related equipment used for grounding and underground conduit and duct bank installations preferred. Ability to recognize, report, and help correct unsafe conditions while following company safety policies, applicable electrical safety practices, and jobsite requirements. Ability to coordinate effectively with other skilled trades to support safe, efficient, and productive project execution. Ability to maintain a steady work pace, meet quality expectations, and complete assigned work in alignment with project schedules.
