The TL;DR Role: Early Career Location: In-person, Indianapolis, IN Mission: Owns the accurate preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts to support robust financial reporting and maintain compliance. Tech Stack: Microsoft Office What You'll Actually Do Journal Entries: Prepare comprehensive journal entries for all accounts within assigned areas, ensuring precise data input, adherence to accounting principles, and timely completion using available resources. Account Reconciliation: Accurately prepare and reconcile various assigned general ledger accounts, meticulously analyzing any identified variances to ensure data integrity and prompt resolution. Auditing & Compliance: Conduct thorough audits of assigned accounts, verifying financial records and processes against established guidelines and regulatory requirements. Balance Sheet Review: Systematically review balance sheets for accounts in assigned areas, proactively identifying, researching, and resolving any irregularities, while effectively communicating findings and answers to managerial queries. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate actively with other finance team members and various internal staff departments to aggregate necessary data and support overall financial reporting requirements. The Must-Haves Background: Possess a Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience will be considered. This position is suitable for an entry-level professional seeking to build core accounting domain knowledge. Experience: No prior professional accounting experience is required for this role. Candidates must demonstrate advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Capable of writing clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups including managers, clients, and the public. Exhibits common sense understanding for carrying out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic forms, and can address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
