Position Overview

Al Boenker Insurance Agency is seeking an experienced, results-driven Agency Manager to lead and oversee our Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments.

Reporting directly to the Agency President, this key leadership position is responsible for managing daily agency operations, driving sales performance, developing and supporting team members, and ensuring exceptional service standards across both departments.

The ideal candidate is a proven insurance professional with extensive industry knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to manage teams, optimize operational processes, and achieve measurable business results.

This individual must be equally comfortable providing strategic direction and remaining actively involved in day-to-day agency operations. We are seeking a proactive, accountable leader who can identify opportunities for improvement, implement effective solutions, and contribute to the agency's continued growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

Agency Leadership & Operations

• Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments, ensuring operational efficiency, accountability, and consistent performance.
• Manage daily agency activities, including sales operations, customer service, policy servicing, renewals, and overall workflow management.
• Establish and maintain effective operational procedures, performance standards, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase productivity, and enhance the overall customer experience.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for departmental escalations, complex client matters, and operational challenges.
• Collaborate directly with the Agency President on strategic initiatives, organizational priorities, and agency performance.
• Ensure agency operations comply with applicable insurance regulations, carrier requirements, and established company policies.

Sales Performance & Business Development

• Lead and execute strategies to drive new business production, client retention, cross-selling, and overall agency revenue growth.
• Establish clear production expectations and monitor individual and departmental performance against established goals.
• Analyze sales activity, conversion rates, retention trends, and other key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
• Oversee lead management, distribution, and follow-up processes to maximize opportunities generated through the agency's marketing initiatives.
• Provide guidance on complex insurance placements, coverage recommendations, and competitive carrier solutions.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and strengthen the agency's presence in personal and commercial insurance markets.

Team Management & Development

• Supervise, coach, and develop insurance sales and service professionals across both departments.
• Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture built on accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement development plans to support individual and team success.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
• Ensure employees maintain appropriate licensing, product knowledge, and familiarity with agency systems and carrier requirements.
• Address employee performance concerns and operational challenges promptly and professionally.
• Promote effective communication and coordination between departments to ensure a consistent client experience.

Carrier Relations & Insurance Expertise

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with insurance carrier representatives, underwriters, and business partners.
• Oversee carrier performance, underwriting requirements, product availability, and placement opportunities.
• Stay informed on industry developments, market conditions, regulatory updates, and changes affecting Personal and Commercial Lines products.
• Support team members with complex underwriting situations, coverage questions, and carrier escalations.
• Ensure accurate policy documentation, appropriate coverage recommendations, and adherence to carrier and agency guidelines.

Reporting & Strategic Planning

• Prepare and present agency performance reports, production summaries, and operational updates directly to the Agency President.
• Monitor departmental performance, employee productivity, client retention, and overall business growth.
• Evaluate operational and sales data to develop actionable recommendations for improving profitability and efficiency.
• Partner with executive leadership to establish short- and long-term agency objectives.
• Take ownership of assigned initiatives and ensure timely execution of operational and strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas General Lines Property & Casualty Insurance License.
• Minimum of 000 years of experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry , with substantial knowledge of Personal Lines and Commercial Lines products.
• Previous experience in an insurance agency management, supervisory, team leadership, or comparable operational leadership position.
• Demonstrated success in leading insurance sales and service teams, achieving production objectives, and improving operational performance.
• Strong understanding of independent agency operations, carrier relationships, underwriting practices, and policy servicing procedures.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve complex issues, and make sound business decisions.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with agency management systems, comparative rating platforms, Microsoft Office, and other insurance technology.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience monitoring production reports, sales metrics, and departmental performance.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
• 10+ years of insurance agency management or supervisory experience.
• Prior leadership experience overseeing both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments.
• Experience managing an independent insurance agency representing multiple carriers.
• Proven experience implementing operational improvements, developing sales strategies, and managing employee performance.
• Experience with recruiting, training, and developing licensed insurance professionals.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
