Specimen Processor I

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a Specimen Processor I in Baton Rouge to prepare and process laboratory specimens for analysis. The role involves unpacking, labeling, routing, and shipping samples while maintaining accurate data entry and meeting production targets in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and route to appropriate staging areas
  • Unpack, accurately identify, label, and pack specimens for shipment to testing facilities
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
  • Resolve and document problem specimens; properly store excess samples
  • Meet department activity and production goals in high-throughput environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens and accurate specimen identification
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
  • Pass standardized color blindness test
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
