Step into a rewarding opportunity as a School Psychologist supporting students and staff in a vibrant educational community near Long Beach, CA. This contract position is ideal for professionals eager to make an immediate impact while enjoying a manageable four-day workweek. The assignment is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and run through October 31, with potential for extension.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred
- Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with IEP processes and special education regulations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments for students
- Provide individual and group counseling to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
- Participate in meetings to develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to support academic and behavioral success
- Deliver crisis intervention and guidance as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
