Quality Specialist

Performs dimensional/layout inspections of parts manufactured in-house or received from approved suppliers. Works under the general direction of the Supervisor, Quality Assurance. Responsibilities Perform internal and external audits as required to meet goals and objectives. Determine methods and procedures to check dimensions using advanced mathematics to establish dimensional relationships not shown on drawings. Accept product using stamp warranty. Perform first article inspections (FAI) as required. Assist suppliers in the performance of first article inspections, as required. Perform inspection of parts using a wide variety of measuring and inspection equipment, such as optical alignment tools, micrometers, calipers, surface plates, laser tracker, Faro Arm, portable CMM, coordinate measuring system, etc. to ensure product conformity. Operate and program CMM to accommodate inspections that need to be performed. Qualifications Must be proficient in advanced mathematics. Must be able to interpret complicated drawings, 3D models, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas, and a wide range of precision measuring instruments. High school diploma or GED required. Additional formal training equivalent to 2 years of college strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of related experience in quality assurance. Preferred experience with CMM programming/set-up and Faro Arm set-up. Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft office. #J-18808-Ljbffr Vaero
