Registered Nurse - Radiology

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse in the Radiology Department provides safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing radiological procedures. This role involves collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care by applying nursing theories, research, and organizational standards within the radiology setting.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs, utilizing critical thinking to develop personalized care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate nursing interventions specific to radiology procedures.
• Educate patients and families about their care, preparation for radiological exams, and post-procedure instructions.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to promote understanding and coordinated care.
• Document all nursing activities accurately within electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS RN License and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in ambulatory outpatient and radiation safety.
• Demonstrate experience with EPIC electronic health record systems (highly preferred).
• Have at least 1 year of travel nursing experience (not required for Per Diem roles).
• Be proficient in radiation safety protocols and patient education related to radiology procedures.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate Degree considered with relevant experience or ongoing BSN studies.
