Application Engineer: Co-Op

ABOUT THIS POSITION We are looking for a 3-semester Application Engineer Co-Op who wants to help simplify and unify healthcare payments across the revenue cycle. The team runs an agile development process with weekly sprints and rapid delivery to production. This is an on-call co-op that results in code being deployed to production many times during the term. Only current college students who attend a school that provides academic credit for the alternating 3-term co-op program may apply. If you are no longer in school, please consider our full-time Application Engineering opportunities. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design, develop, and test new features and enhancements on our platform. Work with peers, Team Leads, Managers, Directors, and the VP of Engineering as well as the wider business to build web-scale products. Implement solutions with experience in Linux, MySQL, and object-oriented design languages such as PHP, Java, .Net, or Ruby. Commonly used languages: Golang, PHP7, Ruby, JavaScript. Front-end frameworks: AngularJS, VueJS. Database: MySQL. Deployments run on Kubernetes on AWS using Jenkins. Development tools include the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo). New tools may be added over time. WHAT YOU'LL NEED 0-3 years of experience. Basic understanding of programming concepts. Ability to code in one or more general-purpose programming languages; C# and .NET are preferred. Experience with SQL. Experience with infrastructure components such as servers, networking, load balancers, and MQ (preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and embrace change. Highly self-motivated. Ability to work both in team and solo environments.
