Lead Systems Technician | Tampa Bay Area (Clearwater) | $50 Per Hour ($90k-$105k Per Year)

The Opportunity

We are working with a growing technology services business seeking an experienced Lead Technology Systems Technician to take ownership of onsite technical delivery for a major customer programme in the Tampa Bay area.

This is more than a standard installation role. You will act as the primary technical point of contact onsite, working directly with customer stakeholders, project leadership and technical teams.

The role involves commercial new construction and renovation projects, leading the deployment of multiple technology systems. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on technical ability, excellent communication skills and the professionalism to represent the business confidently in front of a key customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the onsite installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of technology systems.
• Work across CCTV, access control, LAN/WLAN, structured cabling and associated connectivity infrastructure.
• Coordinate technical activities with project managers, engineers, construction teams and customer stakeholders.
• Act as the main onsite point of contact, providing progress updates and helping resolve technical issues.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, site plans and scopes of work.
• Identify installation issues, coordinate solutions and ensure high standards of quality.
• Support commercial construction and renovation projects, collaborating with other trades and site teams.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate progress, risks and issues effectively.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Requirements

• Strong experience installing and troubleshooting commercial technology systems.
• Experience across several of the following areas:
• CCTV and IP video surveillance
• Access control systems
• LAN/WLAN and wireless access points
• Structured cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6 and fibre
• Low-voltage technology installations
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Previous experience leading installations, coordinating onsite activity or acting as a senior technical point of contact.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to engage professionally with stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Comfortable working in commercial construction environments, including at height when required.
