Director Of Finance And OperationsThe Director of Finance and Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for CCST's operational excellence, financial health, and organizational infrastructure. This position builds and runs the systems, people-management practices, and administrative backbone that allow a dynamic, mission-driven team to plan and execute reliably, and it provides strategic oversight of CCST's finances, whether delivered through a part-time Finance Officer or a contracted accounting firm.A successful Director of Finance and Operations pairs genuine operations leadership with financial fluency. They design and improve how the organization works, develop management capability across departments, oversee the vendors and contractors on which CCST relies, and ensure sound financial stewardship, balancing forward-looking strategy with dependable day-to-day execution while building on CCST's inclusive culture and delivering clear operational and financial guidance to leadership and the Board.This position reports directly to the CEO. The Director of Finance and Operations directly supervises the HR & Bookkeeping Associate and the Office Assistant, and oversees CCST's financial function, delivered by either a part-time Finance Officer or a contracted accounting and controller firm, along with other contracted professional services (e.g., legal counsel, HR advisory, investment management, facilities, and IT support). The Director partners closely with the Executive Assistant who leads overall Board governance and supports executive and organizational coordination.Key responsibilities include:Operations, Systems & Infrastructure (15%)Financial Management & Oversight (15%)Financial Reporting & Analysis (15%)Human Resources & People Management (15%)Project & Cross-Functional Coordination (15%)Vendor, Contractor & Facilities Management (10%)Risk, Compliance & Administration (10%)Board Relations (5%)Required qualifications include:7+ years building and running the operational infrastructure of a dynamic organization, including systems, processes, and cross-functional coordination.Financial-management and oversight capability sufficient to own budgeting, financial strategy, audit, and board-level reporting, and to oversee either a part-time Finance Officer or an outsourced accounting and controller firm.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with grant management and restricted-fund accounting.Proven people-management experience, including directly supervising staff, developing management capability in others, and a working knowledge of employment law.Demonstrated project-management capability and a track record of instituting PM practices across teams.Experience overseeing external vendors and contractors (e.g., IT, legal counsel, facilities, investment management, HR, and other professional services), including procurement and contract oversight.Familiarity with accounting and payroll/HR platforms (QuickBooks, Paylocity, or similar) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.Desired skills and experience include:CPA, MBA, or demonstrated senior financial leadership (e.g., Director of Finance or CFO-level oversight).Experience working with a nonprofit board of directors and supporting board committees.Familiarity with California state government contracts and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).Experience with 990 preparation and nonprofit audit processes.Salary range: $105,000 – $135,000 annuallyLocation: Sacramento, California.
