Systems Engineer II

Abbott seeks a Systems Engineer II for its Electrophysiology division in Plymouth, Minnesota, to develop catheter-based devices and accessories for left atrial appendage occlusion. The role involves translating clinical needs into system requirements, designing architecture, and leading cross-functional teams through development and validation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze stakeholder and clinical needs and translate into system requirements
- Develop, review, and maintain system architecture including structural and behavioral views
- Lead or support system verification and validation planning and execution activities
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory, and Design Assurance
- Interface with end users to align design direction with clinical workflows and real-world needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years experience in R&D or medical device environment
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills
- Experience with nitinol and/or catheter-based devices and delivery systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, changing environments
Compensation: $61,300–$122,700 base
