We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join a mission-driven organization providing essential community services. This role offers excellent long-term growth potential, with the opportunity to evolve into an Accounting Manager position as the organization transitions to a slightly reduced pace over time. Accountant Key Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
The Accountant will maintain accurate financial records with a strong focus on data integrity and organization
Utilize Excel for data queries, extraction, and reporting analysis
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
The Accountant will support budgeting and financial tracking across organizational functions
Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable regulations
Collaborate with leadership to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
The Accountant will assist with audits and prepare supporting documentation as needed

What We're Looking For in an Accountant

3+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit or public-sector experience preferred)
Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, queries, and reporting functions
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and commitment to accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining data integrity
Strong communication and collaboration skills
