Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality care to expectant mothers during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, ensuring adherence to AWHONN guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery, including fetal heart monitoring.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) drips, including titratable medications like Oxytocin and Insulin.
• Provide patient education and emotional support to families during the childbirth process.
• Assist in the recovery phase following Cesarean sections and other surgical interventions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team including OB/GYNs and anesthesia to ensure optimal care.

Schedule

This position requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with alternating weekend shifts and potential varied day/night assignments. Availability for call shifts is also required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring certification is mandatory; Advanced Fetal Monitoring preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience with labor and delivery nursing, particularly in handling cases of gestational hypertension, diabetes, and preeclampsia.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
