Job Description:\n\nV1 / Technical Video Production Lead (Live Events and Show Flow)Centric Events | Phoenix, AZ (Near SR-51 & Greenway Rd)Corporate Events • Conferences • Concerts • Galas • Live Productions • Video ProductionJob Type: Full-TimeLead the technical video execution of high-level live events through professional video systems, seamless presentation flow, and dependable show execution.About the RoleCentric Events is growing, and we are seeking an experienced, technically advanced V1 / Technical Video Production Lead to help lead the execution and continued development of our live video production capabilities. This is a hands-on technical lead role for someone who understands how professional live video systems actually come together—from switcher programming and signal routing to presentation management, confidence monitors, LED walls, projection, cameras, and IMAG.The core of this position is show execution. You'll serve as a lead video technician on assigned productions, taking ownership of the video system from prep through show and strike while working closely with Project Managers, show callers, clients, presenters, and our Audio and Lighting teams. You'll also help guide the readiness, organization, maintenance, and technical standards of Centric's video department behind the scenes. You won't be expected to execute complex productions alone. Our shows are team efforts, and you'll work alongside Project Managers, technicians, warehouse staff, camera operators, and appropriately staffed production crews based on the size and complexity of each event. At the same time, this is a working technical lead position. You'll be expected to remain hands-on—building systems, pulling cable, configuring equipment, operating shows, troubleshooting problems, and jumping in wherever your expertise is needed. We're looking for someone who understands that the difference between an average video system and an exceptional show is often found in the details.About Centric EventsCentric Events is Arizona’s highest-rated event production company, specializing in corporate events, conferences, concerts, live productions, and event environments where reliability, professionalism, and execution matter. Our mission is to build and equip a team of next-level professionals who flawlessly plan, prep, and execute events that win a client’s business again and again. We are a hands-on production company with high standards, clear expectations, and a long-term mindset. What You’ll Be Responsible ForLive Show & Technical Video Execution\nServing as the V1 / lead video technician on assigned corporate events, conferences, galas, concerts, and other live productions.\nProgramming and operating professional video switchers such as Blackmagic Design, Ross, Roland, or equivalent platforms.\nManaging live presentation flow, including presentation switching, playback, lower thirds, multi-screen cueing, and content transitions.\nOperating and supporting presentation and playback platforms such as ProPresenter, Playback Pro, Keynote, and PowerPoint.\nBuilding, routing, testing, and troubleshooting SDI, HDMI, ethernet, network-based video, conversion, scaling, and distribution systems.\nManaging video signal flow across ballrooms, breakout rooms, stages, control positions, confidence monitor systems, and multi-display environments.\nSetting up and managing presenter view systems, confidence monitors, downstage displays, timers, and other speaker-support systems.\nSupporting or leading LED video wall builds, processor configuration, pixel mapping, scaling, and signal distribution using systems such as Novastar.\nSupporting large-format projection systems and other professional display technologies.\nSupporting multi-camera environments, recording systems, and live image magnification (IMAG).\nCoordinating closely with show callers, Project Managers, camera operators, audio technicians, lighting technicians, presenters, and other production team members.\nTroubleshooting technical issues quickly and calmly during rehearsals and live shows.\n\nSupporting load-in, setup, show operation, strike, and equipment return as part of the complete event process.\n\nVideo Department & Warehouse Operations\nTaking ownership of the overall readiness, organization, and technical standards of Centric's video department.\nTesting, prepping, and maintaining video switchers, racks, processors, playback systems, converters, cabling, and accessories.\nEnsuring video equipment is properly prepped, tested, labeled, and ready before leaving the warehouse.\nDeveloping and maintaining clean cable-management, labeling, rack-building, and system check-out standards.\nIdentifying damaged, unreliable, missing, or outdated equipment and communicating repair or replacement needs.\nAssisting with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and department infrastructure improvements.\nHelping maintain organized storage systems for video equipment, cabling, racks, and accessories.\nPreparing and staging video systems for upcoming productions.\nHelping establish repeatable department standards for system design, prep, testing, troubleshooting, and quality control.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve Centric's video equipment, workflows, system packages, and technical capabilities as the department grows.\nProviding input on future video equipment purchases and technical infrastructure.\n Team Leadership & Development\nLeading assigned video technicians and support crew during event setup, operation, and strike rather than being expected to execute complex productions independently.\nProviding clear technical direction, priorities, and expectations to team members onsite.\nTraining less-experienced technicians on video signal flow, equipment operation, cable management, system troubleshooting, and show execution.\nHelping build greater video capability across the team so technical knowledge and execution aren't dependent on one person.\nMaintaining proactive communication with Project Managers, warehouse staff, Sales, Audio, Lighting, and other production departments.\nKeeping assigned crews organized and moving efficiently without sacrificing technical quality or safety.\nRepresenting Centric Events with high standards of professionalism and customer service in client-facing and venue environments.\nThis is a working technical lead position. You'll have a team and resources around you based on the needs of each production, but we expect our leads to work alongside that team, teach the craft, solve problems, and take ownership of the final result. What Success Looks Like\n\nFlawless Show Flow: Presentations, playback, cameras, switching, and display systems operate smoothly with professional transitions and minimal distractions.\n\nReliable Signal Infrastructure: Video systems are properly designed, tested, routed, and documented before showtime.\n\nEvent-Ready Department: Video equipment is organized, maintained, tested, and ready for upcoming productions.\n\nStrong Crew Execution: The right technicians receive clear direction and work together efficiently throughout load-in, show, and strike.\n\nCrew Development: Team members become increasingly capable and confident working with video systems through hands-on training and leadership.\n\nCalm Problem Solving: Technical issues and last-minute changes are handled methodically without unnecessary chaos.\n\nExceptional Presentation: Confidence monitors, displays, LED walls, projection, and presentation layouts are clean, intentional, and professionally finished.\n\nClient Trust: Clients, presenters, venues, and project teams can trust that the video portion of the production will be executed professionally from start to finish.\n\nSchedule ExpectationsThis role supports both warehouse operations and live field execution, including:\nDaytime warehouse prep, system builds, testing, organization, and equipment maintenance\nWeekday event installations and rehearsals\nEvening and weekend productions when scheduled\nEarly-morning load-ins\nOccasional late-night strikes / returns\nOccasional travel for out-of-market productions\nSchedules vary depending on event calendar intensity. Because live events depend on teamwork, reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable.QualificationsRequired\nProfessional experience serving as a V1, lead video technician, switcher operator, or similar technical video role in live events.\nDemonstrated experience operating professional video switchers in corporate, concert, conference, gala, or comparable live production environments.\nStrong understanding of professional video signal flow and system troubleshooting.\nAdvanced knowledge of SDI infrastructure, HDMI, signal conversion, routing, scaling, frame rates, resolutions, and distribution.\nExperience managing presentation and playback systems in multi-screen environments.\nHands-on experience with platforms such as ProPresenter, Playback Pro, Keynote, and PowerPoint.\nExperience with professional hardware switchers such as Blackmagic Design, Ross, Roland, or equivalent systems.\nExperience with LED video wall processors such as Novastar or equivalent platforms.\nUnderstanding of LED wall setup, pixel mapping, processing, and signal distribution.\nWorking knowledge of cameras, recording systems, and IMAG workflows.\nAbility to confidently troubleshoot live video systems under pressure.\nStrong leadership and communication skills during fast-paced production environments.\nAbility to read and interpret system diagrams, floor plans, technical documentation, and production instructions.\nStrong attention to detail and professional presentation.\nValid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.\nHelpful Backgrounds (Preferred)\nExtensive corporate general session or conference V1 experience.\nExperience with Ross switchers or advanced Blackmagic Design systems.\nAdvanced ProPresenter or Playback Pro experience.\nExperience building and operating multi-screen or multi-destination presentation environments with PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and Canva.\nExperience with video routers, matrix systems, scalers, converters, and fiber-based video distribution.\nExperience with Novastar processors and LED wall troubleshooting.\nExperience with camera exposure, camera switching, recording, streaming, and/or broadcast-style workflows.\nExperience designing or documenting professional video systems.\nExperience leading video crews or training other live event technicians.\nWarehouse equipment maintenance, rack building, inventory organization, or department leadership experience.\nCompensation & BenefitsCompensation StructureWe utilize a dual-rate compensation structure designed to provide stable, year-round shop income while creating higher earning potential when you're actively putting your advanced technical skills to work on shows.\n\nShop & Maintenance Base Rate: $24.00 – $26.00 / hourApplies to standard warehouse prep, equipment testing and maintenance, organization, system builds, training, and other non-show work.\n\nOnsite Show Day Rate: $30.00 – $36.00 / hour + OvertimeApplies to qualifying active show execution days based on your assigned technical role, demonstrated proficiency, and available project/client budgets.\n\nExpected Total Gross Compensation: $52,000 – $64,000+ annuallyEstimated based on a combination of regular base hours, show-day rates, seasonal show volume, overtime, and applicable project bonuses. Actual annual earnings will vary based on hours worked, event schedule, assignments, and project volume.\n\nPay Schedule: Paid biweekly via direct deposit\n\nGrowth Path: Opportunity to help shape and grow Centric’s video production capabilities and become a key subject-matter expert within our production operation\n\nFull-Time Benefits (Eligible Positions)\n\nHealth & Wellness: Medical insurance contributions + 100% company-paid $30,000 life insurance policy\n\nRetirement: 401(k) retirement plan with employer match\n\nTime Off: Paid time off (PTO) and company-paid holidays\n\nPerks: Equipment usage benefits for personal projects\n\nWhy Work at CentricLive events demand a lot, but they shouldn’t cost you your health, family, or sanity. At Centric, we plan ahead, communicate clearly, and build systems that allow our team to deliver excellent events without unnecessary chaos. We're looking for someone who wants to leave their fingerprints on our video department. We don't just need someone who can operate a switcher—we want someone who takes pride in clean systems, understands show flow, enjoys solving technical problems, wants to teach others, and sees opportunities to make the department better. You'll be trusted to lead, but you won't be expected to do it alone. Our goal is to give you the people, equipment, and support needed to execute great productions while empowering you to build an increasingly capable video team around you. You’ll still work hard here — this is live events — but you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in doing things the right way.How to ApplyApply here where you found usORLearn more about our team and culture here on our website under our careers page.We encourage applicants to review our culture and values before applying.
