Affordability, Equity and Personal Account Specialist

Position Summary: Identify and assist customers experiencing credit problems due to financial hardship. Identify and work with Social Service agencies throughout the service territory. Coordinate and secure financial assistance and counseling for hardship customers. Monitor customer accounts and follow up by telephone, correspondence or in-person events. Enter into payment arrangements with low-income customers. Essential Responsibilities Work with special‑needs households to secure assistance or arrangements for bill payment. Negotiate to seek resolution and minimize long‑term financial exposure to the company. Work in a high‑volume department where customer data and payment info need accurate coordination. Includes significant time on the phone with agencies and customers and translating information to the billing system. Possess knowledge of consumer protection laws that pertain to utilities in the service territory, including billing system knowledge of Inability to Pay and Agency Assistance. Analyze and monitor customer information to determine appropriate credit action. Assist customers through various channels including in‑person events, telephone, and digital platforms. Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED, and 2–4 years of customer‑related experience. Basic knowledge of energy assistance processes and experience working with outside customers. Preferred Requirements Familiarity with medical account processes. Bilingual. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated starting base pay for this position is $17.40 to $24.34 per hour.
