Preconstruction Manager

About the Company
Growing multifamily developer seeking an Assistant Preconstruction Manager to support planning and execution of projects from early design through construction start. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with ~1+ year of experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant PM, or estimating exposure looking to move from operations into the developer side.

Support planning and execution of projects from early design through construction start.
Responsibilities
- Support budgeting and cost planning through design phases
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, bid reviews, and subcontractor pricing
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and internal development teams
- Review drawings and identify scope gaps and constructability issues
- Help maintain project budgets, schedules, and procurement trackers
- Support value engineering exercises and cost-saving initiatives
- Participate in due diligence and preconstruction meetings
- Assist with bid packages and contractor communications
- Track design changes and budget impacts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
Required Skills
- 1–3 years’ experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant PM, Estimator, or similar
- Exposure to multifamily, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, or ground-up construction preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and project delivery process
- Proficient in Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar construction software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in multifamily development
- Familiarity with project management software
