Aluminum Cage Fabrication Shop Technician

Position Summary

CRA is seeking an experienced Aluminum Cage Fabrication Shop Technician to support our growing fabrication operations. This position plays a vital role in producing high-quality aluminum cage components while maintaining our standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Read and accurately use a tape measure.
• Operate fabrication equipment, including saws, drills, drill presses, punch presses, and other shop tools.
• Safely move materials using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Load, unload, and organize aluminum materials throughout the fabrication process.
• Assist with the fabrication and assembly of aluminum screen enclosure components.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
• Assist with inventory organization and material control as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in aluminum fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Experience operating shop equipment and power tools.
• Forklift experience preferred (CRA will provide certification if needed).
• Ability to read measurements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, occasionally overhead with assistance.
• Stand, bend, and move for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Work in both indoor shop and outdoor environments as needed.
• Safely operate shop equipment and material-handling equipment.
