The Opportunity
We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the DeWitt region seeking Cost Accountants. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidatesnot just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standard product costs and bills of material.
- Analyze manufacturing variances (e.g., material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption).
- Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analysis for management.
- Conduct inventory valuation and reconcile physical inventory counts.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, particularly for cost of goods sold.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
- Support new product development by providing cost estimates and analysis.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
