Operations Specialist (Ft Lauderdale Airport)

Waste Connections is seeking a dependable and detailoriented Operations Specialist to support our Fort Lauderdale Airport contract. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and properly functioning waste and operational equipment while ensuring all assigned areas meet airport and company standards. Monday to Sunday, 6:00AM to 2:00pm & 2:00pm to 10:00pm in 2 shifts per day. Shift TBD shift. Pay range $18.00 to $20.00 an hour DOE Key Responsibilities Keep all assigned equipment clean, sanitary, and in proper working condition Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly Maintain work areas according to airport, company, and contractual expectations Follow all airport safety, security, and operational procedures Coordinate with supervisors and airport personnel as needed Maintain professionalism while working in a secure, public airport environment Qualifications & Requirements Ability to pass a criminal background check Ability to pass a physical test required for airport operations Possess a valid Florida Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Access Badge Ability to work outdoors, in varying weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Skills Prior experience in operations, maintenance, sanitation, or airport environments Basic mechanical or equipment maintenance knowledge Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Work Environment Airport ramp and operational areas Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions Compliance with strict airport security regulations What we Offer Stable employment under an airport contract Training and support for airport access compliance Opportunity to grow with our organization If you have any questions or need help with your application feel free to call the Recruiter, Pete Carreon at .
