Based in our Downtown Los Angeles, CA office, you'll partner with municipalities, school districts, higher education institutions, and civic agencies to deliver infrastructure that strengthens the communities we serve.This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex projects, build lasting client relationships, develop talented engineers, and help grow a thriving practice, all while working alongside experienced professionals across Psomas' multidisciplinary teams.Why PsomasEmployee Ownership: 100% company-funded ESOP plus a 401(k) with immediate company match.Hybrid Flexibility: Consistent 3/2 hybrid schedule.Career Growth: Leadership development, career pathing, mentorship, and professional training.People-First Culture: Collaborative teams that value technical excellence and professional growth.Meaningful Work: Deliver infrastructure and public improvements that make a lasting community impact.DTLA Perks: Company-paid employee parking.What You'll DoLead projects from concept through completion while balancing technical excellence, client expectations, team development, and business objectives.Project Leadership: Manage multiple Site Development and Public Works projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and delivery.Technical Oversight: Guide grading, drainage, utilities, LID, hydrologic/hydraulic design, and public improvement projects.Team Development: Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff while providing direction and technical guidance.Client Partnerships: Build trusted relationships with public agencies, municipalities, educational institutions, and other key clients.Agency Coordination: Navigate regulatory requirements, permitting, and coordination with local and state agencies.Business Development: Lead and support proposals, RFQs/RFPs, presentations, interviews, and contract negotiations.Consultant Management: Coordinate subconsultants and support contract administration throughout project delivery.Required QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.California Professional Engineer (PE) license.8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.1+ years of project management experience leading Site Development, Public Works, facilities, or infrastructure projects.Experience delivering projects for Southern California public agencies, municipalities, or educational institutions.Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering, design principles, practices, and standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.Preferred QualificationsDBIA certification or ability to obtain within two years of hire.Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $125,000–$160,000 annually, commensurate with experience.Incentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programs.Time Off: 3–4 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidays.Total Rewards: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, employee ownership, retirement benefits, and professional development opportunities.Our Hiring ApproachOur recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
