Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting Regular Full-time Ayer, MA, US 18 days ago Requisition ID: 1028 Salary Range: $140,000.00 To $160,000.00 Annually Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities: The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting will have worldwide responsibility for all technical accounting compliance and reporting. Through management of staff, the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting will be responsible for establishing a control and systems environment that will support the business needs and growth of the company. The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting will be responsible for and coordinate all financial audits and reviews as well as assisting in mergers, acquisitions, and disposals. Functions: Lead and oversee the global accounting function to maintain the corporate books of record in accordance with GAAP, ensuring compliance with emerging trends, practices and new accounting guidance. Review monthly financial statements and provide explanations of variances and identification of unusual activity requiring further investigation. Participate in review of SEC quarterly and annual reports, ensuring disclosures are up to date with latest guidance. Coordinate and manage the quarterly reviews and annual external audits. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of audit schedules and financial statements. Establish a worldwide control environment that will enable the company to comply with all elements of SOX, including support necessary for all internal audits. Review key contracts and commitments to ensure proper accounting practices are followed. Evaluate and amend, as necessary, the accounting systems used to establish the books of record for the Company. Review the current systems’ functionality, implementation effectiveness and recommendations for additional systems and processes to affect a timely and accurate reporting environment. Ensure the growth of all systems in proportion to company growth. Establish and communicate accounting policies and practices to the Company ensuring compliance with internal controls and GAAP. Assist with documenting all areas of significant judgment on a quarterly basis. Lead corporate accounting integration efforts for acquisitions, including due diligence and post-transaction accounting. Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and disposals. Assist in due diligence. Provide global review and oversight of revenue, inventory, management reserves and other areas of technical accounting, ensuring proper accounting records are maintained according to corporate policies. Manage and develop accounting staff throughout the organization through ongoing training. Education - Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting CPA preferred 7-12+ years of public with manager experience or 10-15+ years of relevant industry experience Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs: Tax Accounting/Cost Accounting Contract accounting Revenue recognition Public company experience Public accounting earlier in career Managed teams – minimum responsibility of 4 people Mentored and developed talent Implemented new systems to support financial and accounting efforts Worked in dynamic and growing company Knowledge of Oracle ERP system a plus Global accounting and financial systems Worked with Auditors as lead person Breadth of experience working with small and larger companies; has seen a company grow rapidly. Experience with multiple global sites. Experience with effecting controls but gives autonomy to businesses and ensures within bounds of compliance requirements; proven experience required.
