The platform currently operates approximately 70+ locations across 17 brands nationwide, including TSR Concrete Coatings, Ninja Coatings, Legacy PolyPro, The Vinyl Outlet and ReVamp Fence & Deck.

As the business continues to scale, leadership is investing in broader finance and accounting infrastructure ahead of the Company’s next growth phase and a likely future liquidity event.

The Opportunity

ReVamp is seeking a high-caliber Assistant Controller to serve as a hands-on leader of the Company’s day-to-day accounting operations. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller will own the monthly close and balance sheet reconciliation process end to end, ensuring an accurate, timely, and well-documented close across a complex, multi-site operating environment.

This is a people-leadership role. The Assistant Controller will manage a team of three direct reports spanning Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Revenue Accounting, and will develop the team, standardize processes, and build the review discipline needed to support a rapidly scaling platform. The role partners closely with FP&A, operations leadership, and the broader finance team, and provides meaningful day-to-day support to senior leadership, including the Corporate Controller and CFO.

A defining challenge of the role is scale and complexity: ReVamp operates 70+ locations across 19 brands, so the Assistant Controller must be comfortable driving a consistent close, consolidation, and reconciliation process across many sites, including newly acquired operators. The objective is not simply to maintain the books, but to strengthen reporting integrity, apply sound technical accounting judgment, and help build scalable, well-controlled processes ahead of the Company’s next phase of growth.

The role suits a candidate with a strong public accounting foundation and prior industry experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and offers a clear runway toward broader controllership responsibility over time. This is a hybrid position based out of the Company’s offices in Naperville, IL, combining in-office collaboration with work-from-home flexibility; candidates based in or near the Naperville / greater Chicago area are preferred.

Responsibilities

Monthly Close & Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Own and execute the full monthly close process end-to-end — journal entries, accruals, cutoff, and general ledger management — and deliver the close on a consistent, committed timeline.
• Own the balance sheet reconciliation process across all accounts and locations; ensure every balance is reconciled, supported and reviewed each month, and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.
• Prepare and review the consolidated financial statements, confirming results tie from location to brand to segment to consolidated and that the balance sheet balances.
• Maintain and continuously improve a documented close calendar, reconciliation templates, and review controls.

Team Leadership (AP / GL / Revenue Recognition)

• Lead, develop, and manage a team of three direct reports responsible for Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Revenue Accounting.
• Oversee Accounts Payable — vendor processing, cutoff, expense coding and disbursement controls — ensuring accuracy, proper approvals and timely vendor payment.
• Oversee General Ledger accounting — the chart of accounts, journal-entry discipline, account mapping, and the integrity of the ledger across all entities.
• Oversee Revenue Accounting — ensuring revenue (booked and installed/completed) is recognized accurately and consistently in accordance with GAAP and Company policy across all sites and brands.
• Set clear expectations, review work product, and build the cross-training and process documentation needed for the team to scale with the business.

Technical Accounting & Controls

• Serve as a technical accounting resource for the team, applying GAAP to revenue recognition, accruals, leases, fixed assets, purchase accounting, and other judgmental areas.
• Research and document positions on non-routine and technical matters and support accounting for acquisitions and their integration into the platform.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls over the close, reconciliations, and financial reporting; help remediate control gaps as the organization formalizes its infrastructure.
• Support the development of formal accounting policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and support the annual audit and other external reporting requirements, serving as a key point of contact for audit requests.

Process Improvement & Multi-Site Scalability

• Drive consistency and scalability in close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows across 70+ operating locations and a growing number of brands and entities.
• Partner with operations leadership and branch management to improve location-level reporting accuracy, financial visibility, and accounting discipline.
• Identify and implement process, automation and systems improvements — including ERP evolution initiatives over time — that shorten the close and improve reporting integrity.
• Help build and formalize scalable accounting infrastructure as the Company continues to grow organically and through acquisition.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this high-energy, rapidly growing, and entrepreneurial environment, the Assistant Controller will bring a broad array of technical, leadership, and operational skills, including but not limited to:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and industry experience; 2–5+ years of public accounting, ideally within a top-tier audit practice.
• Demonstrated, hands-on ownership of the monthly close and the balance sheet reconciliation process — a must-have for this role.
• Direct experience accounting for a multi-site, multi-entity or multi-brand operating environment, including consolidation across many locations — a key requirement given the Company’s 80+ location footprint.
• Strong technical accounting foundation in GAAP, including revenue recognition, accruals, leases, and purchase accounting, with the ability to research and document technical positions.
• People-leadership experience, with a track record of managing, developing, and reviewing the work of direct reports (experience overseeing AP, GL, and/or revenue recognition functions preferred).
• Prior experience within a private equity-backed, high-growth or acquisitive business environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong systems and process orientation, including advanced Excel capabilities and comfort working with large data sets; experience with QuickBooks and/or ERP implementations a plus.
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial, builder-oriented mindset with the ability to create structure and controls within a fast-paced environment.
