The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead our estimating function and help drive profitable growth.

This is more than a quote preparation role. The Senior Estimator is responsible for evaluating project opportunities, defining scope, establishing pricing strategy, developing estimating standards, and improving bid performance across the organization.

You will lead a team of estimators while working directly with architects, general contractors, owners, vendors, project managers, and company leadership. Your decisions will have a direct impact on revenue, profitability, and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction documents, specifications, and bid packages to define project scope
• Prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for architectural signage and environmental graphics projects
• Establish labor standards, production assumptions, and pricing methodologies
• Solicit, evaluate, and incorporate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Lead and support a team of estimators and estimating coordinators
• Collaborate with sales, project management, design, production, procurement, and installation teams
• Present pricing recommendations and approve bid submissions
• Develop and maintain estimating standards, procedures, and best practices
• Support strategic decisions regarding project pursuit, pricing, and market opportunities
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on profitability and operational efficiency

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will:

• Improve bid-win ratios through better project evaluation and pricing strategies
• Establish consistent estimating standards across the department
• Develop reliable historical cost tracking and reporting
• Improve estimate accuracy and profitability forecasting
• Strengthen collaboration between estimating, operations, and project management

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within the sign industry
• Strong understanding of architectural signage, ADA signage, environmental graphics, and wayfinding systems
• Ability to independently review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience developing complete project estimates including materials, labor, subcontractors, and installation costs
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating healthcare, higher education, or corporate signage programs
• Experience with large campus-wide or multi-site signage projects
• Construction estimating experience
• Experience leading or mentoring estimators
